Online Counselling
What is counselling and how can it help?
As a registered counsellor, I offer a professional counselling service that provides guidance, support, and a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. It involves a collaborative relationship between you and me, aimed at helping you gain insights, develop coping strategies, and make positive changes in your life. Counselling can address various issues, including mental health concerns, personal development, relationship challenges, and life transitions by enhancing self-awareness and promoting personal development.

I provide online counselling to clients worldwide
Online counselling allows you to get help whenever and wherever you require it from the comfort of your own home. If you are based in Cape Town, I also provide the option of in person counselling.
Benefits of online counselling
1. Accessibility
- In today’s fast-paced world, finding time for counselling sessions can be challenging or even impossible. Balancing work and personal life often leaves little room for scheduling appointments with a professional counsellor.
2. Convenience
- Travelling or unable to drive to our location? The primary benefit of online counselling is the convenience it offers. Online counselling provides the advantage of being able to meet with your counsellor at the simple touch of a button while being in the comfort of your own home. This allows you to be in a location you feel you can open up best in without the need to take time out of your busy day to drive anywhere. This allows you to take the 15+ additional minutes that would have been spent sitting in traffic to breathe deeply and focus on your well-being.
3. Affordability
- Online counselling allows you to save money on having to take time off work or drive to an in-person session. Online counselling can be scheduled at any time of the day that you have a spare hour meaning sessions can be organised before and after work or even during a quiet lunch break.
4. Comfort
- Many people have gotten so used to communicating via technological devices, that it is more comfortable for some to share their feelings via online channels. This is especially applicable to adolescents who grew up in the digital era. If you think about it, most young adults today chat mainly via texting, which means that talking to a counsellor via texting will be more comfortable for them. If a person is comfortable during their counselling session, it is likely to be more effective.
5. Easier Access
- With online therapy, people in rural areas can talk to a professional counsellor without having to travel long distances into the city. It is also useful for patients who are chronically ill or disabled, as they do not have to leave their homes to attend therapy.
